Description |
Recognizing the need for supervisors to have a supportive and reflective relationship and acknowledging that this is not always available, the Ounce has developed reflective learning groups for supervisors in different communities throughout the state. This will allow supervisors to explore their own reflective work with their family support staff and have the opportunity to recognize and deal with (1) the places where they are stuck; (2) their blind spots; (3) their own vulnerabilities; (4) their break-through and successes.
Purpose: The mission of the Supervisors Reflective Learning Group is to support supervisors as they share their experiences in their work with others in embedding reflective practice into their programs. As a result of developing these kinds of groups, previous experiences have shown us that supervisors oftentimes walk away with more clarity around whether they have the knowledge to do the work, the skillset to do it effectively, and a raised awareness of their values, beliefs, and assumptions that guide them in their work with others.
