The Growing Brain - The Impact of Stress on Social Emotional Development Webinar

Description

This training is based on material from Zero to Three’s Series “The Growing Brain” – This particular webinar deals with helping parents do everything in their power to mitigate the impact of a stressful, and in some cases traumatic, environment upon the emerging social and emotional life of their child. Included in this content are practical strategies for management that parents can use to reduce the amount of stress their children must cope with. No child can live stress free, but parents can understand better the impact of what even normal stress can have on children. Decades of research indicate that the early years of life are a period of exponential brain development, characterized by great opportunity and vulnerability, dependent on the relationships and environment in which the child is growing. This innovative training focuses on giving home visitors, parent educators and center-based staff evidence-informed strategies with which to prepare parents for their vital role in building healthy brains.
