This training is based on material from Zero to Three’s Series “The Growing Brain” - This particular webinar will look at helping parents understand they have a role to play right now in awaking curiosity for learning and following their child’s own natural inclinations into new territories of cognitive development. Children are born to learn, but at their own pace and match for age appropriateness. Home Visitors and other staff will look at strategies for creating the right environment and space for children to sharpen their cognitive skills. Decades of research indicate that the early years of life are a period of exponential brain development, characterized by great opportunity and vulnerability, dependent on the relationships and environment in which the child is growing. This innovative training focuses on giving home visitors, parent educators and center-based staff evidence-informed strategies with which to prepare parents for their vital role in building healthy brains.
