At times, we all feel lost or without a clue about what a child might need from us.

What is Circle of Security? A ROADMAP TO UNDERSTANDING!
* Eight-chapter Reflective program
* Offers a new way to understand:
o a child’s needs

o how meeting a child’s attachment needs, which in turn, leads the carer to have a more confident presence and a child who is more cooperative and compliant.

o the complexity of the attachment system and how it contributes to infants and toddlers developing a sense of security and competence

o how important relationships contribute to the lives of children

* Increases awareness of attachment with parents, caregivers and others that work with children

Learning Objectives:
• Understand a child’s emotional world by learning to read their emotional needs
• Support a child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
• Enhance the development of a child's self esteem
• A perspective change on behavior (children behave well when they feel safe in love and connection)
• Explore new ways to respond sensitively to a child’s cues.
• Gain insights on managing your own struggles around
certain attachment needs
• To inform and enhance your practice as a therapist


**** THIS IS NOT A TRAINING, this is a reflective group.****
After attending all 4 weeks of Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) does not allow you to train others in COSP. They do however, want you to use this knowledge to inform and enhance your practice.

*** You must commit to all 4-weeks in order to receive full credit! Most importantly attending all 4-weeks allows the group to feel a part of safe environment, as you will be discussing sensitive information.
