Challenging behavior is often addressed with a plan to extinguish the behavior. This presentation will review strategies to identify replacement behaviors as well as strategies to Teach, Model, Prompt, and Reinforce the replacement behaviors. Additionally, preventive social emotional learning strategies will be reviewed such as cognitive behavioral approaches, self-regulation, self care, and self calming techniques.
