It is often thought that individuals with CHARGE Syndrome, due to the complexity of the syndrome and the sensory and other systems the syndrome impacts, are some of the most complicated students we have the joy of teaching. At the 2019 CHARGE Syndrome Foundation Conference in Dallas, Texas, two new materials to support families and educators who have children and young adults with CHARGE Syndrome were introduced. Both were checklists, one that covers medical concerns throughout the lifespan, and one that covers educational concerns. Both were created using methods that support validity, and had input from experts with extensive knowledge and experience with CHARGE Syndrome. These checklists are not yet well known but could be important tools for early interventionists, educational team members, and families who know children and students who are Deaf or Heard-of-Hearing due to CHARGE Syndrome.
