Feeding Disorders in the Young Child

Description

This training is for therapists specializing in children presenting with feeding disorders in the 1-3 year old population after a child has begun transitioning to table foods. The training will focus on: the importance of taste exposure as well as the prerequisite feeding skills needed to be established prior to instituting a more in depth intervention to target increased variety and volume of oral intake. Participants will learn different strategies that can be taught to parents to target expanding a child’s diet repertoire. Participants will learn modifications that can be utilized with special populations including children with autism, sensory based feeding issues, and weight concerns.
