Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment

Description

Dr. Toni Linder, Ed. D., Professor Emeritus in the Child, Family and School Psychology Program, Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver in Colorado will provide training in play-based assessment which is a functional, observational approach to assessment of infants and preschoolers. TPBA2 is a comprehensive assessment system, including family involvement materials, vision and hearing screening, a format to bridge assessment and intervention and procedures for monitoring outcomes. In this presentation participants will learn how to use the TPBA2 protocols, how to be part of a transdisciplinary team, observe children in playful interactions with parents, adults and peers, determine developmental levels and needs and make a functional intervention plan. Participants will practice using the materials by observing videos of actual assessments.
