Infant Toddler Conference: Undercover Superhero: Movement is our Super Power

Description

Infants and toddlers not only want to move, they need to move! Infants and toddlers are all too often positioned in some sort of container, whether they are being transported, fed and even when playing! A young child’s natural inclination is to move. They want and need to be actively engaged in playful experiences that utilize their muscles as well as their minds. There is a large body of research evidence to support the incorporation of movement in a young child’s daily experience. The time has come for those of us who work with the youngest children to accept our undercover superhero identity and free the infants and toddlers from the confines of their containers. Movement is powerful!
