Description |
Prosthetic devices are designed to help individuals with limb differences to participate in activities of everyday life (Østlie et al., 2012). However, research has shown that individuals have varied experiences of acceptance and rejection of prosthetic devices (Biddiss & Chau, 2007; Widehammar, Pettersson, Janeslätt & Hermansson, 2017; Wright, Hagen & Wood, 1995). The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore perceived factors of prostheses acceptance and rejection as reported by children with congenital upper limb differences and/or their parents. This research study utilized semi-structured interviews to investigate prosthesis use and non-use during participation and perceived factors related to prosthesis acceptance and rejection.
