Influencing Caregivers to Improve Motor Outcomes in the Infant and Young Child

Description

Is it nature or nurture? Current research suggests that both experience and genetics shape corticospinal development. Through interaction and engagement, caregivers play a key role in providing experiences that can facilitate the establishment and refinement of synapses during infancy and beyond. This course briefly reviews corticospinal development and discusses strategies, including relationship-focused intervention and coaching, to facilitate caregiver responsiveness and optimize outcomes.
