This training will consider various concrete methods and strategies for getting a family actively engaged in integrating therapeutic strategies throughout their day.
We will discuss how to assess factors which may be preventing families from "making space" for therapeutic activities, and how working from a relationship based approach can support active family involvement.
While we work from a perspective of "making space," family routines and opportunities will be assessed and strategies are embedded into the unique, everyday living culture of each family. We are not trying to find extra time to "do" therapy, but rather - we are coaching the family in understanding how to integrate strategies into existing routines, thus creating a therapeutic environment.
