Providing EI Services to Families who Struggle with the Conditions of Poverty - November 2019

Description

There are many research studies that document the negative impact conditions of poverty make on early child development. Young children and their families who receive early intervention services already experience challenges and when they live in challenging environments there is a dual jeopardy to long term outcomes. This seminar will briefly summarize some of the literature. Then, Service Coordinators will be encouraged to discuss how they have dealt with the issues created by poverty for the families they have served in the past or currently. This workshop will utilize a case consultation format with small groups of Service Coordinators (5-10).
