Keeping Children Safe- Preventing Sexual Abuse

Description

Please join us as we invite the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center staff to present Keeping Children Safe- Preventing, recognizing, responding to and reporting sexual abuse.

This opportunity is open to our Safe from the Start coalition partners first, and then will be opened to outside entities if there is still room left, so please register ASAP if you plan to participate.

As Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center’s signature training, Keeping Children Safe (formerly Responding to Abuse) educates professionals, caregivers and community members on child sexual abuse. Through lecture and group discussion, the presentation covers:how to define child abuse and child sexual abuse, signs and symptoms of abuse, including the grooming process, recognizing and intervening during concerning situations, reacting to disclosures of sexual abuse trauma and its impact, the mandated reporting process, Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center’s role and how to support children, families and yourself.
