Description |
Parent involvement helps extend therapy into a families daily routines and experiences. Parents are their child's first teacher. It is important for therapists to involve the family in the therapy sessions. By doing this we offer support and opportunities for parents to support the strategies and activities that happen in therapy and extend them into their day to day lives. Parents who are in tune with what is happening in therapy are better able to establish a connection between what is practiced in therapy and incorporate it into what takes place in the home. This connection is a key component of a child’s development. This training will cover strategies for engaging parents during treatment sessions and providing them with activities that will carry over treatment into their every day activities.
