Description |
This course will detail the reasons and possible benefits of recommending genetic testing at an early age. In addition, it will discuss various signs/symptoms that may warrant this recommendation. The presenter will provide specific strategies and guidelines for clinicians to implement when making this referral to parents as well as research that helps support the outcomes of genetic testing. Attendees will learn about the two broad categories of genetic disorders as well as specific disorders that fall within these categories. An in-depth case study will be reviewed that includes medical and developmental history of a 21-month-old child with GRIN2B and the importance of a team-based approach in intervention.
