Functional Handling through Play- Connecting Disciplines for Patients with Neurological Impairment

This 1-day course is designed for PTs, OTs, SLPs and Assistants with an interest in treating the pediatric population and/or anyone with neurological issues.
 
Emphasis will be placed on functional handling techniques and play while working with children that have atypical development. Participants will also learn how to take everyday items in your house and turn them into a toy for functional play.
 
Lab work will emphasize on problem solving and hands-on treatment of other participants and on rag dolls. Techniques that will be taught are intended to be used during functional play while meeting discipline specific goals. Participants should wear shorts/sweats and t-shirts for lab. Please bring a jointed rag doll.
