Reflections on Early Intervention - One Mom's Story for Service Coordinators

Description

Families can teach us so much, if they feel empowered to tell us their stories! This two hour workshop for Service Coordinators is a facilitated discussion with a mom who has had two children in the Illinois Early Intervention System and her very different experiences with each child. Reflection topics will include her feedback, both positive and constructive on the intake process, initial eligibility and parent participation in that first IFSP, teaming with a variety of professions and personalities, the myths of home carryover, and how service coordination helped her find her voice to advocate for her children and family.
