Using Parent Coaching to Facilitate Language Development in Infants and Toddlers

Description

Parent coaching is research-based and best practice in Early Intervention. By using coaching during therapy and working strategies into daily routines, we allow parents to observe, practice, and get feed back on how the strategies are working. There are millions of language opportunities throughout the day; by pointing these out to parents, it will help them realize this is not another task to add to their “To Do List” but something they can easily work into their daily routine. This training will focus on parent coaching and language facilitation strategies that can be used immediately with families to encourage active participation in EI visits.
