Short Course 318: Strategies for the Pediatric OT to Improve Occupational Performance of Children With Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI)

Description

CVI is the leading cause of low vision and blindness in children worldwide. It is characterized by decreased processing of visual information and dysfunction in the posterior brain pathways. Due to the complexity of CVI, OT must collaborate with a team when considering the impact on occupational performance. Strategies utilizing CVI adaptations for school and home, assistive technology, and Integration of parental perspectives as part of the team will be discussed.
