This course will focus on fostering the knowledge about IEPs from a variety of perspectives, including a director of an Early Childhood program, an Early Childhood therapist, a Licensed Learning and Behavior Specialist, a service coordinator and parent advocate, and parents who have participated in the process. The course will provide an opportunity for professionals and parents to share their experiences in an informative and friendly environment. Questions and small group discussions will be encouraged at the end of the course. This is a beginning level course designed to assist families in understanding the process of an IEP following participation in Early Intervention. Providers will gain skills so that they can assist families during this challenging and possibly scary experience.
