Who's Who in Illinois: Resources for Families of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children
Abstract: CHOICES for Parents, a statewide resource organization for families of children who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing, will present resources available to early intervention providers working with these families.
During this interactive EHDI Day Lunch and Learn, CHOICES for Parents will moderate a panel of representatives from available early intervention resources throughout Illinois. Each representative will have the opportunity to share information about their services to providers and hand out materials as well as answer questions. This allows the opportunity for early intervention providers to refresh their cache of resources for families of children birth to three with hearing loss. In addition, some national resources will be shared, including the Just In Time Resource from National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM).
To foster collaboration among early intervention professionals, CHOICES for Parents will also spend some time recognizing several individuals who have made strong contributions to the field and commemorating the governor proclaimed Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Day.
