This is the basic NDTA certificate course covering the assessment and treatment of children beginning with birth to three years with cerebral palsy. The course requires one year of pediatric experience working with children with CNS disorders. Topics covered will be kinesiology, assessment, goal setting and treatment, handling skills, typical and atypical motor development including gross motor, fine motor, and oral-motor/feeding; Intervention addressing atypical development in areas of gross motor, fine motor, and oral-motor/feeding; and pathophysiology of cerebral palsy.
Attendance at all sessions is required.
