Speech Therapy is More than Just Teaching Children to Talk

Description

Workshop will address foundations of child development, including sensory processing, motor skills, attention, engagement, and imitation. Presenters will discuss the importance of addressing foundational skills prior to teaching a child to “talk.” Therapy techniques were demonstrated, including, but not limited to movement and/or sensory-based activities. Presenters will provide information on coaching and supporting families of the children with whom they work.
