Learning Objective One: Define family engagement and describe national resources to support the occupational therapy practitioner in promoting family engagement, inclusive of families from culturally diverse backgrounds, when delivering care and evaluating outcomes.
Learning Objective Two: Identify at least three strategies that occupational therapy practitioners can use to reinforce family engagement during the individualized family service planning process and during early intervention service delivery.
The presentation will highlight occupational therapy's role in promoting family engagement in early intervention. Best practice resources and teaming strategies, including how to incorporate the family, will be shared to support occupational therapy practitioners in being able to demonstrate the value of their role.
