SC 252. (AOTA) A Review of AOTA Children and Youth Activities and Resources

Description

In this short course, the AOTA Pediatric Program Manager along with Nationwide Children’s Hospital Homecare and Outpatient Occupational Therapists will review the AOTA children and youth resources on early intervention, early childhood, and school practice. We will navigate the AOTA website to explore numerous topics such as school mental health, transition, recess, response to intervention and primary service provider approach. Each topic will be examined briefly to consider: supporting evidence, value added, resources to share, and activities to join. Emphasis will be placed on using a public health approach and advocating within interprofessional teams. In addition, the presenters will use real-life examples to discuss how the AOTA official documents and practice resources can be used to identify and support best practice guidelines, job descriptions, competency checklists, and form templates for evaluations, discharge summaries, and other types of documentation.
