Building Brain Recovery for Infants and Young Children

Description

Infants and young children have brains that experience much rapid growth and change. Sometimes they are born with existing neurological problems that impact their brain development and other times they develop unexpected problems after birth. Any of the brain traumas can affect a child's development, growth and learning.
Dr. Nelson's presentation will review the brain's ability to recover and from neurological challenges. He will discuss how interventions, from therapy to technology, can significantly impact a child's brain to recover. Although damage from brain insults or trauma can often not be reversed completely, great improvements and progress can be made.
