Description

Powerful new understandings about the internal, interpersonal, and societal impact of trauma and chronic stress on children point to a growing need for embodied and active treatment approaches to the healing process. This one day workshop will give you new ways to understand children’s trauma symptoms, effective and playful interventions to use in your practice and knowledge to educate your community about the impact of trauma on children and families. This workshop will explore current developments in the diagnostic understanding of complex trauma and implications for best practice. We will examine emerging bottom-up child treatment approaches utilizing film and clinical case examples. The program allows you to see and feel how these approaches access and impact children’s disrupted regulation and attachment systems without relying on to learn about the power of “bottom-up change” and how easily transferable these tools are to your clinical settings.
