Keeping Children Safe: Preventing, recognizing, responding to and reporting sexual abuse

As ChicagoCAC's signature training, this session will educate professionals and community members about child abuse and has a focus on responding to child sexual abuse. Through lecture and group discussion, the presentation covers:

•how to define child abuse and child sexual abuse
•behavioral indicators of abuse, including the grooming process
•responding to disclosures of sexual abuse
•the mandated reporting process
•trauma and its impact
•Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center’s role
•how to support children, families and yourself
