Advances in the Early Detection of Cerebral Palsy: A Brief Overview of the Importance of Using Prechtl's General Movements Assessment

Description

This presentation will give various EI providers (PT, OT, SLP, Feeding, and DT) information on red flags and risk factors that may lead to cerebral palsy to help promote early detection and diagnosis and therefore quicker access to services. An overview of Prechtl's General Movements Assessment will be given so that providers know the importance of referring to a therapist certified in this assessment when they have a client who has the risk factors for CP. Neuroplasticity of the infant brain will also be reviewed.
