Music Together Skills and Songs Workshop - Winter 2018

Description

*Pre-Requisite: Registered Music Together Teacher or Licensee.* Tonality and Singing

It’s time to tune up your tonal skills! If you’ve ever felt stumped by dorian, Mixolydian, or one of the other modes we use in our curriculum – or if you just want to deepen your knowledge of tonalities and tonal pattern practice – this workshop is right up your alley! Through ear training, you’ll learn to recognize the characteristic chords of each scale and we’ll review how and why tonal patterns are constructed. You’ll get a chance to practice leading patterns with your colleagues in small groups and work on techniques tailored to the comfort level and skill set of each teacher. This session is an opportunity to ask questions and hone your tonal skills in a supportive and energized atmosphere. Regardless of whether you’ve ever taken a music theory class or not, this workshop will prove valuable if you’re looking to gain a better understanding of both major and non-major tonalities. – don’t miss it!
