Building Bridges: The Transition Process from Early Intervention to Early Childhood

This workshop is the newly revised version of the statewide transition training:
“Transitioning Children from Early Intervention to Early Childhood Special Education”. “Building Bridges”
has been developed to provide current information about the transition process out of Early Intervention
services. Early intervention and early childhood special education professionals and parents of young children
with special needs will learn about State and Federal requirements and responsibilities in this interactive
presentation. The workshop is designed to support all participants in their involvement in a smooth and
effective transition process as children approach their 3rd birthday. Highlighted topics include evaluation and
eligibility, transition planning conferences, requirements, rights and responsibilities, and recommended
strategies.
Intended Audience: School District/Special Education Cooperative Administrators, Special Educators,
Related Service Providers, Early Intervention Service Coordinators, Parent Liaisons and Providers, Family members of children receiving services through EarlyIntervention, Community and Head Start Providers.
