Developmental Assessment: Interpretation of Results and linking information gathered from a child's global assessment to functional outcomes with everyday interactions and routines

Description

This training session will review the definition of developmental assessment and the role it plays in early intervention. Program objectives will focus on factors, both environmental and biological, that influence performance on developmental testing in the birth to three population and review assessment approaches that are meaningful and accurately reflect the child's caregiving environment. The clinician's ability to link information from test results to functional outcomes will reflect a comprehensive, integrated understanding of infants and toddlers and their relationships within the family unit, larger community and culture. Information gathered through meaningful assessment or relating skills to everyday interactions and routines, will guide a therapist's plan for intervention.
