Understanding Typical and Atypical Sensory Processing in Early Intervention – an Overview for Service Coordinators

Description

This two hour workshop is designed to help Service Coordinators understand the topic of sensory processing in children aged birth to three, both typical responses and atypical ones commonly seen in the children we support in early intervention. Sensory processing impacts all areas of development and is a part of the intake and evaluation/assessment and IFSP development process. Service Coordinators need to be able to understand in turn explain in ways to help families understand why we ask some of the questions we do, and why for some children, strategies to help with sensory processing will actually assist with other outcomes a family may identify as important for their child and family.
