Attendees will learn how to administer, score and interpret standardized assessment tools commonly used in Early Intervention services and particularly during a medical diagnostic evaluation. The Hawaii Early Learning Profile (HELP), Vineland-SEEC and Leiter-R tools will be highlighted. Discussion regarding how children with Autism may perform differently on standardized tools, how to best facilitate their participation for optimal performance and how to discuss outcomes with the parents. Finally, attendees will learn how to use assessment outcomes in a variety of scenarios, including how to recommend and shape treatment.
