Description |
This course is designed to show how to incorporate sensory input during speech therapy treatments to maximize therapy outcomes and increase participation. The basics of sensory integration will be explained, commonly used equipment will be introduced, and multiple strategies will be shared.
Learner Outcomes
Participants will be able to…
1. Identify children who demonstrate sensory differences and would benefit from sensory integration techniques during speech therapy intervention.
2. Describe multiple sensory integration strategies to use during speech therapy interventions to increase participation and maximize therapy progress.
3. Explain how to utilize a team approach for collaboration and co-treatment in multiple treatment settings.
4. Discuss the benefits of using a multi-disciplinary team approach to help with diagnosis and intervention.
