Osteogenesis Imperfecta - An Overview for Service Coordinators

Description

This one hour workshop is designed to give an overview of Osteogenesis Imperfecta in order to continue their ongoing understanding of the many conditions we encounter in early intervention. Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is a genetic bone disorder characterized by fragile bones that break easily. It is also known as “brittle bone disease.” The term literally means “bone that is imperfectly made from the beginning of life.” A recent referral provided an opportunity to educate Service Coordinators about this genetic condition.
