NDTA Training Course for PT/OT/SLP Assistants working with Children with Cerebral Palsy and other Neuromotor Disorders

This course is approved by NDTA and will provide didactic teaching and handling/ treatment skills for assistants in the field. There will be direct patient contact, LAB and interaction with supervising therapists in each discipline.
Please be aware that successful participants will be awarded an NDTA certificate and will be NDT trained.
All participants will be required to show proof of malpractice insurance.

Pre requisites
One year’s experience, since graduation, working with children with neuromotor disabilities, and currently employed in such a position.

Learner Objectives
The learner will develop observation skills of motor and functional abilities/disabilities relative to their clients’ abilities.
The learner will understand the NDT enablement model as a basis for developing problem solving skills to promote functional abilities.
The learner will develop and apply NDT handling skill to promote functional outcomes.
The learner will develop ongoing problem solving abilities that are discipline specific .
The learner will understand the interdisciplinary relationships of function in their clients.
The learner will understand the process and be able to perform documentation of progress based on functional goals.

Dates
The material will be taught in 3 blocks and attendance at 100% of the course is required. Any absence for absolute medical/family emergencies will need to be worked out with the instructors, but there will be no refunds for incomplete attendance.
