Description |
Providers and families will be present to experience hands-on activities like bounce house, face painting, interacting with balloon artists, dancing to music, participating in a game of putt-putt and playing with bubbles and sidewalk chalk. These activities are fun and can be great learning experiences. Therapists will demonstrate with visual supports and simple signs how to elicit vocabulary. With children present, therapists will model other communication strategies in family friendly fashion. With many children present, therapists and families will have natural opportunities to practice strategies on turn taking, waiting, negotiating and asking/answering questions.
