Autism & Sensory Processing Disorder

Description

The diagnostic rate of Autism Spectrum Disorders and Sensory Processing Disorder is higher than it's ever been. Recent studies have shown that a high percentage of children and adolescents do not receive adequate therapeutic intervention. As a result these children are struggling at increasing levels at home, school, and on the playground. Therapists, teachers and parents are often overwhelmed by the complexity and diversity of information that is available. Specialty clinics and expensive equipment are not readily available in all communities nor are they accessible to all who would benefit. Children with autism and SPD often require a daily routine that incorporates various calming and therapeutic activities and tasks but knowing what works for whom is one of the biggest challenges in pediatric therapy.

This brand new, extremely practical seminar explores clinical applications from several directions for maximum impact on the child and family. Attendees will explore proven strategies that can be applied across the spectrum of child development for enhanced learning, improved communication, and reduced frustration for the child, parent, teacher and therapist. In addition to learning specific therapeutic interventions you will also understand the importance of therapeutic value and efficacy of how they pertain to your client or student. Through hands-on labs, equipment and interactive discussion, attendees will gain the tools needed to create individualized interventions and sensory diets that can be used immediately. This seminar is a pivotal training experience for anyone dealing with children of all ages under the spectrum.
