An interactive session on how to support individuals with Autism Spectrum and other Disabilities.
Learner Objectives:
*Compare and contrast definitions of autism
*Hear stories and see examples of how some students with special needs see and experience learning
*Learn the benefits of inclusive schools for students with special needs
*Explore how student fascinations, strengths and "favorites" can be used to teach, support and inspire
*Explore how to use fascinations as a tool in planning curriculum and instruction
*Explore how to use fascinations to calm and comfort students
*Examine a planning tool that can be used to catalogue strengths, abilities and fascinations
