Clinicians will discuss an article by Almirall et al. that was published in the Journal of Clinical Care & Adolescent Psychology in 2016. The article, titled “Longitudinal Effects of Adapative Interventions With a Speech-Generating Device in Minimally Verbal Children with ASD” outlines the results of a SMART design intervention targeting spontaneous communicative utterances and joint attention.
