Using Developmentally Appropriate Augmentative and Alternative Communication for Children in EI

Description

This presentation will introduce participants to the concept of Augmentative and Alternative Communication and how it can be Developmentally Appropriate for children in the Early Intervention Program. AAC is defined, potential diagnoses and red flags are identified, and examples of AAC are provided. Resources in the community are also provided and addressed, along with the general EI process for obtaining an AAC system.
