Assessing Parent-Child Interaction: NCAST II is an evidence-based program for nurses and other health care providers interested in learning to promote positive parent-infant interactions which are known to enhance development. In addition to a review of infant states and behavioral cues, this course will prepare you to use the Nursing Child Assessment Teaching Scale. This scale is designed to assess parent-child interactions and are useful in early case finding of parents and infants at risk and subsequent intervention. Participants have expressed becoming more sensitive to parent and infant behaviors during interactions with families in their care.
