Collaboration between ABA therapists, SLP's and OT's

Description

Many children with Autism receive both ABA therapy and traditional therapy by Speech Pathologists, OT's, etc. Yet, the collaboration between the disciplines is often lacking and at times fraught with conflict between roles.

In this workshop, a panel of experts will include a dually certified SLP/BCBA, a licensed OTR with an ABA background and an SLP with experience in examining ways to improve the collaborative process.

Participants will learn:
Results of a small survey conducted regarding EI children diagnosed with Autism and their ABA services, background of the availability of ABA in Illinois (20 min.)
The differences in therapeutic approach between BCBA's, SLP's and OT's (60 min)
Where the approaches mesh - and potentially conflict (40 min)
Specific ways to enhance the collaboration between ABA and traditional SLP and OT approaches. (60 min)
All 2 hours will be speaking to Intervention.
