The Intergenerational Transmission of Trauma in Our Work with Young Children and Their Families

In this training, we will explore scientific research as well as the concept of epigenetics in the transmission of trauma from one generation to the next. We will wonder what that may mean for a developing child’s experience in utero, when a child is 0-3 years of age, and if it is possible to influence the outcome. of a child's development. Early interventionists will have the opportunity to think about the families with whom they work and the dynamics of family systems, all while thinking about possible different perspectives of families in Early Intervention.
