Description |
Experienced early interventionists know, childhood has changed. Young children today are different from the children of even just a few years ago. Let’s wonder about this together. How has childhood changed? How are today’s children different from the children of even a few years ago? Why have these changes taken place? Has child development itself changed? In this workshop we will get back to basics. We will revisit child development in the context of what young children really need and what gifts and challenges go along with growing up in today’s world. We’ll look to the recent neuroscience findings to guide our discussion. And, since we all know that infants and toddlers learn through their senses, we’ll examine the sensory processing literature, specifically the importance of movement in early development and learning. We have a lot to discuss!
