Effective Early Intervention

Description

Play teaches infants and toddlers about their bodies and everything around them. Play also promotes growth and development in all areas of a child’s life. Exploring options for treatment through play in the areas of sensory integration, motor skills development, assistive technology, appropriate evaluation and documentation are essential to meeting the needs of the early childhood age group. Early intervention with appropriate tools and resources can help every infant and toddler develop age-appropriate motor and sensory skills.

This workshop will help therapists, teachers, ECI specialists, and many other professionals make an impact on later school success as well as improve motor and sensory development with the 0-3 population. Early intervention specialists must address multi-cultural differences, environmental issues, and parenting styles. It is important to properly evaluate and treat developmental concerns to provide children a better quality of life. Using case studies, hands-on experiences, and video examples participants will be able to assess, set goals, develop treatment plans, and document progress in their youngest clients with a wide variety of conditions. Veteran therapists will learn new options and those new in pediatrics will gain information to help them be successful in their daily interactions with children and families.
