Description

This training opportunity will allow participants to learn more about the NICU. Dr. Muraskas will talk about management, outcomes and ethics of extremely low birth weight newborns. He will also present about future technology for the NICUs. Meg Naber will discuss what families and babies can expect and will experience while in the NICU. She will review a variety of common needs and complications experienced by babies admitted to the NICU. Meg will also discuss admission into the NICU, therapies while in the NICU, preparing babies and families for discharge from the NICU, and supports and resources for families. Dr. Keen will discuss prenatal and post natal brain development. She will review early signs of cerebral palsy, the diagnosis of CP, and documented effects of intervention on CP.
