Dealing with the Diagnosis in Early Intervention

The presentation Dealing with the Diagnosis in Early Intervention was created to help therapists and professionals work with families who's child has received a diagnosis. This presentation explores strategies to support families and caregivers processing and working through a diagnosis to better relate to their children and appropriately support development. We will explore how to relate to families and empathize using coping strategies to strengthen the relationship between providers and caregivers and empowers families to advocate for their children and become more active in their communities; strong relationships between providers and families has also demonstrated success in seeing families "buy in" to new approaches and follow through with therapy in the home.
